Jessie and Mariah joined the show to talk about their careers and new project VolleyIQ! Both Jessie and Mariah played club for the Dinos Volleyball Club in Calgary and for Team Alberta growing up. Both would play their post secondary for the University of Alberta Pandas. Jessie is currently a member of the Canadian Women’s National Volleyball Team and has played overseas in France and Austria. Mariah competed in her first professional season in Germany this season. She has represented Canada several times including most recently at FISU Games in 2019.

Megan Nagy (Dehod) took time out of her Wedding Anniversary to record an episode with us! Megan grew up in Saskatchewan where she competed in several spots including volleyball and baseball. She made the decision to pursue volleyball at Medicine Hat College where she earned First Team All-Star each year, Female Athlete of the Year and the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Player of the Year. After college Megan played professionally in Laon, France. After focusing on indoor Megan made the goal of representing Canada on the beach! She moved to Toronto to tryout for the squad and begin training full time. During her career she has represented Canada 30 times, earning 14 top 10 finishes!
Megan and Kristen Moncks (both friends of the show!) recently started Evolve Volley. Evolve provides volleyball clinics and individual coaching for athletes to help them build their confidence and elevate their game. For more information check out their website! https://www.evolvevolley.com/

Michael Denton joined us to talk about his career that includes 2x Ofsaa Championships, 4x Ontario Championships, 4x National Championship, 2x Volleyball Canada All-Star, playing at U of Toronto for five (5) years and being named Captain for four (4) of those seasons! Not to mention he was a member of Canada's Number 1 Beach Crew with the Ontario Volleyball Association.
Growing up Michael was a member of the original Crush club teams. Denton shares some John May stories and how he chose to attend the University of Toronto and helping develop the culture there. Michael is continuing his leadership with the Varsity Blues as a member of the coaching staff. We hope you enjoyed hearing about all of this and more!

Patrick Johnston has accomplished so much! While playing for Durham Attack he helped the club win a Provincial and National Championship. Outside of club he would represent Canada at the NORCECA Youth Championships in Mexico City and Team Ontario at the Canada Games in Regina. Patrick committed to Thompson Rivers where he was awarded the Sports Task Force Athletes of the Year. Pat transferred back to Ontario to play for the University of Western Mustangs. He would earn OUA Libero of the Year and a Second Team OUA All-Star.
While at Western Pat completed his Masters of Coaching and would coach with the Mustangs and Boston College. After completing his education Pat would coach the Fanshawe Falcons to 3 Provincial Titles and a National Championship! At the club level Pat is a director at London Volleyball Club (LVC) where he has helped the club win several provincial and national championships.

Canadian Libero Kristen Moncks joins the show! Kristen grew up playing for Aces and Dinos in Alberta before attending Medicine Hat College where she would be named Rookie of the Year and a 1st Team All Star during her career. After Medicine Hat she transfered to Trinity Western where she would help the Spartans win a Canada West and CIS Championship, and earn CIS Libero of the Year Honours. Currently in her 8th season with the Canadian National Team Kristen has seen two Olympic cycles and three different Head Coaches. Kristen also has three seasons of professioanl experience in Romania, Philippines and Finland.
Kristen teamed up with friend of the show Megan Nagy to start Evolve Volley. 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Todd Rogers joins the show! Todd is a 2x Olympian, he's won 54 AVP Championships, when partnered with Phil Dalhausser the pair played in 57 events and played for a medal 44 times, winning 23 times! From 2008-2010, Rogers and Dalhausser won nine of the 13 FIVB Grand Slams they played! Todd is also a 4x Defensive Player of the Year on the FIVB, Best Setter (2005), Most Inspirational (2008), Team of the Year with Phil in 2010, and Tour Champion in 2010. After retiring Todd continued his coaching career taking the lead as the Head Coach of the Cal Poly Women's Beach Volleyball program!

The Big Shooter, King of the Beach, John May joins the show! As a player John lead the York Lions to 3 OUA Championships, and was a 2x 1st Team All Star. Fun fact, May would play one season at BYU in the NCAA. Later on John stopped playing to create the Labatt Tour that would help Canada compete at the highest level on the FIVB Tour. John would go on to coach Mark Heese and John Child at the 2004 Olympics where the team finished 5th. John would make another appearance at the Olympics, this time coaching Jamie Broder and Kristina Valjas/May at the 2016 games. John was also with the squad when Broder/Valjas captured Canada's first ever FIVB Gold Medal on the women's side! Another first for Canada was when Sam Schachter and Garrett May won our first Youth World Championships where John was a part of the coaching staff.
No stranger to the indoor game, early on in his coaching career John lead the U of Toronto Women's Team to their first OUA Championship. More recently John coached the York Lions Women's program. John was also the man behind Crush, one of, it not the most dominate club team to ever play in Canada.
John has put a lot of time into our sport and had a lot of influence on several levels of volleyball. We really appreciate him coming on the show and hope you enjoy this episode! Craig Marshall joined us to take a deep dive into the coaching world. Craig is currently attending the University of Alberta in pursuit of his Master’s Degree in Coaching. Craig has coached with the Golden Bears for 5 seasons, Team Alberta, King's University Men's and Women's Teams as an Assistant and for several clubs. Craig is a 2x Canada West Champion, 8x Provincial Champion and was part of the Bears USports win in 2014. Craig shared a lot of information his practical experience combined with his Masters, what he's changed over the years and some ideas he's borrowed from the great coaches he's worked with.

Kamila Haase grew up competing in Track and Field and Figure Skating. She made the change to volleyball in grade 11 and her career took off from there. Playing club for the Scarborough Titans, Kamila then made Team Ontario and the Youth National Team. Kamila attended McMaster where she was named to the OUA All Rookie Team and helped the Marauders win an OUA Gold and Silver medal during her career. Next season Kamila will be in Hungry playing for MÁV Előre Sport Club Hungaria.

John is an NCAA Champion with Pepperdine, on the beach John has won 4x AVP, 63 Top 5 AVP Finishes, 2x FIVB Gold Medalist, 5 Top 5 finishes in only 31 events, and 3x Medalist on the Norceca Tour. As a coach John has worked with LMU Women's Beach Team, Gold Medal Squared, Flint / Day & Allen / Slick on the FIVB Tour, and the US Men's Collegiate National Team.
